  • Nepal is amazing!

    Precious Andrew | August 22, 2014

I recently visited Kathmandu and with the help of Hem, with The Asia Adventure Nepal, had an unforgettable time. Hem went out of his way to make sure that I got to do and see everything that Kathmandu has to offer, as well as arranging a mountain flight, and a 3 day trip to Chitwan for me. As a solo female traveler, I was completely comfortable with Hem, who was professional and informative. He took me on his motorbike to see the major sights of Kathmandu, to visit an orphanage, and even made me a home-cooked meal at his home. I highly recommend Hem for any activities you're planning in Nepal!

  • The ONLY choice for trekking

Hem was recommended to us by a friend in the US who described him as a caring and generous family man, but, from our experience, he deserves even greater praise than this. He seamlessly organized an Annapurna trek, including meeting our special request for a female guide, at a very affordable price (student budgets, fear not!) and remained very responsive only a phone call away throughout our three weeks in Nepal. I felt as if we had a Nepali Godfather working for us - he is that well-connected and caring about his clients. I wholeheartedly recommend him for any sort of adventure tourism and simply for his genuine desire to show you the best, most authentic Nepal.

  • Awesome!

I actually meet hem through couchsurfing and after we got chatting I found out he was a guide. Hem was really easy to get along with and I could tell he was a very experienced and passionate about being a guide so I approached him and asked if he would be available to take me on a short trek.

A few weeks before l had my trip planned to Nepal. I had to have surgery so I was a bit concered about going trekking and my fitness but Hem was amazing and suggested a short trek for me and would often check alongthe way if I was ok or if I needed a break.

I did a short 3 day trek through nargarkot which I really enjoyed. It was interesting going through all the villages and seeing how they live and there were lots of beautiful views along the way.

Hem is a great and knowledge guide and also a very kind person who is easy to get along with.

I would definitely recommend using asia adventure Nepal and I definitely will be when I return!

  • “Couldn't have been better”

    Alex Benkhart | October 24, 2014

I came across The Asia Adventure Nepal when I contacted Hem on Couch Surfing looking for a place to stay in Kathmandu. In our first few emails he seemed very honest and knowledgeable. What made the biggest impression on me was that Hem did not try to sell anything, he just asked if I wanted any help planning my trek. I felt that most of the other agencies had strict itineraries, tight timelines, and high prices. Hem was very willing to accommodate our wishes for the trek and allowed us the freedom to set our own schedule and itinerary and at a very fair price.
Ultimately, we went on a trek in the Everest region, crossing the Renjo-la pass to Gokyo, then the Cho-la to Lobuche, Basecamp, etc, and finally down the main trail, where we took some extra time in Khummjung. To top it all off, our guide was great. I could not be more grateful to Chandan for his help on the trails, his bargaining at the lodges, and his company throughout the trek.
When we I back to Kathmandu, Hem was even generous enough to extend an invitation to join him and his family for Diwali celebrations.
This was a pretty big trip for me, so pre-trek anxiety and expectations were both high. Now I can say that everything went better than planned and that the credit definitely goes to Hem and his team for making that happen.

  • "Amazing Adventure"

My friend and I ended up booking our Manaslu and Tsum Valley Trek through The Asia Adventure after meeting the owner Hem's nephew Tushar out in Kathmandu. We already had five or so quotes and the price from Hem was much cheaper and included a Jeep (rather than a packed local bus) to our starting point which other companies wanted an extra $150USD for. When we went to book with Hem we were invited for a fantastic traditional Nepalese dinner and had a great night experiencing life in Kathmandu as the locals do. We both felt a strong connection to Hem and knew he had our best interests at heart.

We ended up inviting Tushar to come along with us for the trek (his first time as a porter) and had an amazing 20 days. Our guide Saroj was incredibly knowledgeable, he knew the height of every mountain and town as well as all travel times off by heart and always had interesting facts about the local villages, their religion, culture and history.

Unlike most other tourists we felt that we were travelling with good friends, not just a guide and porter. We spent time together learning about each others lives and culture, we played cards, laughed, listened to music and shared stories. After the trek Tushar was kind enough to invite us into his home where we met his family and share food and drinks.

I highly recommend booking your trip through Hem, you will not regret it.
