The Three Passes Trek is arguably the ultimate high-altitude trek and one of the unique experiences available in the Everest region. The three passes themselves, Kongma-La, Cho-La, and Renjo-La, are as challenging as they are breathtaking, offering unrivaled views of the worlds tallest and most stunning mountains.This trek is a great alternative for those daring backpackers who are apprehensive about crowds and looking for a more rustic experience.
After an exciting flight to Tenzing-Hilary airport in Lukla, we follow the classic trail to Namche Bazaar and, after a few days, Dingboche. From there, however, we leave the crowds behind and head towards the Kongma-La pass (5535m), where you will be surrounded by views of Mt. Ama Dablam, Mt. Makalu, Mt. Lhotse, and Mt. Nuptse.
Our descent takes us towards Gorakshep and Everest Base Camp, but the real highlight of this stop is Kalapathar, which offers us a close and intimate view of Mt. Everest. Our journey then continues on to Gokyo via the wintry Cho-La Pass (5330m). Once we reach Gokyo we can relax and enjoy the other-worldly hue of the Gokyo Lakes as we rest up for the final leg of our journey.
Finally, we cross the Renjo-La Pass (5445m) where we are treated to a final view of Everest before descending to the rolling moors of Lungde and Thame that ultimately lead us back to Namche Bazaar and the crowds of Kathmandu.

Day 3 :Fly from Kathmandu to Lukla (2886m) and Trek to Phakding (2610m) 3.5 hours. Overnight at Guesthouse. B.L.D
Day 4 :Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3440 m.) 5 - 6 Hours. Overnight at Guesthouse. B.L.D
Day 5 :Rest day at Namche Bazaar (3440 m) for acclimatization. Overnight at Guesthouse. B.L.D
Day 6 :Trek from Namche Bazaar to Tyangboche (3867 m.) 5 - 6 Hours. Overnight at Guesthouse. B.L.D
Day 7 :Trek from Tyangboche to Dingboche (4260 m.) 5 - 6 Hours. Overnight at Guesthouse. B.L.D

Day 16 :Trekk form Gokyo Renjo Pass (5345m) Lungdhen(4380 m.)6 - 7 Hours. Overnight at Hotel. B.B
Day 17 :Trek from Lungdhen to Thame(3610 m.)3- 4 hours. Overnight at Hotel. B.B
Day 18 :Trekking form Thame to Namche Bazaar(3440 m.)3- 4 Hours. Overnight at Hotel. B.B
Day 19 :Trek from Namche Bazaar to Lukla (2886 m.)5- 6 Hours. Overnight at Hotel. B.B
Day 20 :Fly from Lukla to Kathmandu. Overnight at Hotel. B.B
Day 21 :Leisure day in Kathmandu. Overnight at Hotel. B.B
Day 22 :Transfer to international airport for your final flight departure. B
What is Included
- Private pick up and transfer as per the programmed itinerary.
- 2 nights pre–trek and 1 night post–trek accommodation in Kathmandu at 2-3 Star hotel (or as agreed), with breakfast.
- Full day sightseeing tour in Kathmandu valley (as per the itinerary), with private transport, local guide and all entrance fees.
- 3 meals per day (breakfast, lunch, dinner, teas and coffees) for the duration of the trek.
- Twin share accommodation at best available guest house for the duration of the trek.
- 1 experienced, fully trained, government licensed and English-speaking Senior Trekking Guide for the trek duration.
- Assistant Guides to offer support for the trek duration, as per the group size. (4 trekkers: 1 assistant guide).
- Sherpa porters to carry your luggage for the trek duration, as per the group size. (2 trekkers : 1 porter).
- Coverage of all expenses for the guide(s) and porters, i.e. food, accommodation, salary, equipment and transportation, plus insurance for all staff (as per state law).
- Return flights from Kathmandu to Lukla inclusive of all airport taxes.
- Access to comprehensive first aid medical kit for the trip duration. (Clients are advised to bring their own personal medical supplies as well).
- Sagarmatha National Park permits and TIMS (Trekkers Information Management System) permit.
- 1 Asia Adventure Nepal T-shirt, per person.
- Welcome and farewell dinner in Kathmandu at typical Nepali restaurant.
- All applicable government taxes.
What is Not Included
- Entry Visa fees – 25USD for 15 day visa, 40USD for 30 day visa and 100USD for 3 month visa on entry into Nepal (correct at time of writing)
- Any meals in Kathmandu other than breakfast (and in the case of early return from the mountain other than scheduled).
- Personal expenses such as alcoholic drinks, bottled water, cold drinks and laundry.
- Personal medical and travel insurance and medical bills.
- International air fares/ flights. (Fares and flights can be arranged upon request).
- Hot shower during the trek.
- Personal trekking equipment and clothing.
- Insurance to cover emergency helicopter evacuation.
- Tips for guide, porters and drivers. (Tipping is expected, but not mandatory).

It is important to consider that internal flights to/from Lukla can be subject to disruption. Due to bad weather, flights can sometimes be delayed or even cancelled. Although such disruption is rare, we should be prepared for every eventuality, any time of the year, even in the peak trekking season. In case of flight cancellation it is therefore advised to bring extra money to cover costs of additional nights in Kathmandu, as this expense will not be included in your package. If you have to stay in Kathmandu longer than planned, you can of course enjoy other activities like cultural tours, rafting or shopping as you wish, and we can help to arrange this for you. For those travellers on a schedule that cannot be compromised, in case of flight disruption which is very rare, we can arrange an alternative trek to suit personal needs and time constraints.
