Spring (February-May) and Autumn (September-November) are considered the best seasons for trekking.
In Winter (December-January) the high mountains are very cold, so it is important keep below 4000m unless properly equipped, experienced and guided.
During the monsoon season (June August) you can trek in the rain shadow areas north of the Himalayas like Mustang, Manang and Dolpo where the rain clouds never gather and the sun always shines. The best part about treks during this season is that routes are less crowded and the meadows are green and in full blossom with an abundance of wildlife.
